DeNami Addict Challenge #2 - Third entry.

Here again is the color combo to be used for DeNami Addict Challenge #2.

(while you don't have to use these exact colors, we ask that you keep them as close as possible)

So, still on the subject of the DeNami Addict Challenge, I intended to do a third card.  I had an idea and had made an embellishment that I wanted to put on the card.  The full idea of what I wanted the card to look like had not fully developed.  I had also been wanting to make a card based on a design of a card we made at a local stamping store's make-it-take-it.  The card was a birdhouse card and I finally got everything I needed to be able to make it.  Mine is not identical, but then when does anyone make something identical to the inspiration, right?  I wanted the front of the birdhouse to be paper (the original was stamped with a woodgrain look.)  I looked through my stash of paper and picked one I thought would look pretty.  As I looked at it, it occurred to me that this paper was the same colors needed for the challenge!  I completed my card and decided to use this one for my third entry since the other idea never developed.  I can always use my already created embellishment on another card another time!  I'm just happy to get more stamping experience and pushing myself to get better.  So, here is my third card.

Supplies used:

Amethyst paper - unknown maker
Floral print paper - Paper Pizazz
Ribbon - Ribbon Trends, Polka Dot Purple
Stamps - sentiment: TPC Studio, Greetings; bird: TPC Studio, Whimsical Birds
Inks - Stampit, Purple; Marvy LePlume II markers
Circle Scissor, EK Success

Thanks for coming by to look at my card.  Comments are welcome.  'Til later...

DeNami Addict Challenge #2 - Entry #2

ENTRY # 2

As a reminder, or in case you just started here, this is the challenge information.

(while you don't have to use these exact colors, we ask that you keep them as close as possible)

For this challenge, there is only one requirement:
1) Create a card/project based off of the theme.
You don't have to use  DeNami stamps or other DeNami products, but if you have some, we'd sure love to see them!! You may enter up to 3 projects.

I am having so much fun now that I finally get to use my stamping stuff!  I get three entries and I am going to use them all!

This is my second try.  I used the same sage and lavender cardstock as in my first card. The stamps are DeNami Design N128 Three Line Border for my vase, the flowers are from Stampin' Up! 'Springtime Stems' set, and the sentiment is TPC Studio 'Greetings'.  Ink is Marvy LePlume II markers No. 85 mocha and No. 15 olive green, and Stampit Purple ink pad.  The ribbon is Ribbon Trends - Polka Dot brn and I used The Paper Studio Ribbon Glue.  The frame is Pages N Memories Die Cuts - Bookplates in amethyst.  Last but not least I used the Quickie Glue Pen and DeNami Sparklets Sampler - All That Glitters for the flower centers and the vase top.

Please come back for the third card when I get it done!  Comments are always welcome!
Bye for now!

DeNami Addict Challenge #2

Today I'm posting a card I'm entering in the DeNami Addict Challenge #2.  Here is the information for the challenge.

This is the card I have come up with.

The cardstock I had on hand and I don't know the brand name. I used brown shimmer cardstock for the card, amethyst and sage cardstock for the layers and lavender cardstock for the elephants scalloped circle, which was made from a Marvy 2" punch. I used Fiskers Layer Away Dots stamps for the stamped circles and squares. The ink is Stampit Purple and the brown is stamped with a brown ink pad but it didn't come out as dark as I wanted so I went over the dots by hand with a Marvy LePlume II No. 85 mocha marker.  The elephant is from DeNami Trifly set of 3 animal stamps (elephant, zebra and lion.) The sentiment is TPC Studio Greetings clear stamps.  The ribbon is from Ribbon Trends - Pnk/Grn/Brn Dots and I used The Paper Studio Ribbon Glue to adhere it.  I used a Quickie Glue Pen and DeNami Sparklets Sampler - All That Glitters glitter for the glittered circle and dots on the amethyst cardstock.

That's it for now.  Comments are welcome.  Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

Welcome to the beginning!

Wow!  I've done it.  I have joined what seems to be the rest of the world and created my own blog.  :D
My main reason for creating a blog is Rubber Stamps. I have been wanting to join other bloggers I have been reading and get in on the stamping contests, etc.  This is day one (or actually night one because it's midnight.)  My posts may not be kept up regularly or frequently.  I'll just have to wait and see how this goes.
So, as for my interest in rubber stamping, I have been collecting supplies for around 10 years.  I haven't gotten much stamping done because I didn't have much time due to jobs I've had and I had no place to work on projects.  I am currently at a place in my life that is bad in some ways but good in other ways.  I was laid off just about a year ago when my position was eliminated where I worked.  That's the bad part.  That's also the good part!  While I am looking for a job (like a large part of the rest of the US) I have been taking advantage of some of my time off by attending 'make it, take it' days at a local stamping store.  Twice each month I get the opportunity to work on getting the creative part of my brain working.  I have also been working on getting a room set up to be able to do crafting so I can start using all the cool things I have been collecting for 10 years.  I keep getting surprised when I find something I forgot I had.  It's like Christmas every time I work on my room!
As I get cards made, I will post them for everyone to see.  I welcome your comments, please be nice.  :)   Any rude or inappropriate comments will be deleted.  This is my happy space so lets all be happy!
I have some settings to work on so that's it for tonight.  See you next time!
